Interesting, we have that exact light behind his sofa - sitting on our sofa table.
It's very heavy and very nice!

Wow, a grand without something on top of it or underneath it! Though for the aesthetics of the photo, they should have propped up the lid, at least on short stick.

Yes! And I also hate it when real estate listing photos don't at least show the keyboard side (with the fallboard up!)

For the record, when we sold our house, I put the piano lid on the short stick, and opened the fallboard and there was at least one photo where you could clearly see the fallboard logo.
/bragging.

I'm never sure what to think about these shelves people make out of piano cases. Sometimes I think they're cool and I want one.... other times I think they're awful and they make me feel sad, like looking at a dead carcass... 😅

ShiroKuro I agree with your final words "like looking at a dead carcass" - you nailed it there. Maybe the owners like that feeling - the photograph features dead fish. I've seen some pretty piano shaped jewellery boxes - maybe I'll treat myself to one of those, it's the nearest I'll get to owning the real thing. Not that I'd want one at this early stage of my piano journey - I don't need my mistakes amplified. 🙃

I love the room in the recent photo, with the curved wall of windows behind the piano. I guess the sound probably bounces around that space quite nicely but it could be quite deafening if someone is playing a monster of a piece (or just murdering a piece).

I can't imagine how many 'bolts' are holding that thing to the wall.
and I still don't see how it doesn't pull the drywall off the wall.
It must be totally bolted into the numerous studs in the wall.

This reminds me of what a critic wrote after a very young Horowitz's Hamburg performance of Tchaikovsky Concerto "When it was all over and the piano lay on the stage like a dead dragon".

Even the much better examples of piano bookcases I've seen, while amusing and attention getting, are not something I would want in my home. To me they mostly look strange.
