I'll be happiest with the tune that gets the most participation, and I'm willing to play any jazz tune. So I'll stay out of the vote 🙂

@rsl12 Looking at your suggestions for the next event, my vote would be The Long And Winding Road. I'm not really a fan of The Beatles, but out of their catalogue of around 200 songs there are about a dozen which I love and that's one of them. (It's a pity that most of the rest are inane dross, but such is the world of pop music.)

By the way, here in the UK we would refer to this as a "Golden Oldie"... we would not usually use the term Oldie on its own, unless referring to an old person, rather than an old hit song.

Maybe I should update the original post to include what has and hasn't been decided so far:

In the past, PIYW pieces have been announced a month in advance of when the submissions go live. But from now on, the announcement will be made two months in advance.
the genre of the PIYW pieces selected will be based on a schedule, to ensure we get a good variety. Within the genre, the piece will be selected using group discussion. For PIYW #3, the genre is jazz.

Unless something major changes in the next couple of days, it looks like the October piece will be Autumn Leaves. If you know of any good arrangements (at all difficulty levels), please give me a link to them in the Suggestion Box. It would make my life much easier!

rsl12 This arranger has many excellent but relative easy arrangements, many of which can probably be played by intermediate level pianists. PDFs of his arrangements used to be free but now I think they cost a very modest around $6. I am almost positive he did an arrangement of Autumn Leaves.
