Well I finally moved house (to a detached place) last month and now own my first ever acoustic Piano:

A Yamaha B3, with the chrome finish. £4995 for those interested.

Lovely sound and feel, and a dream come true for me.

I'm not sure, however I know a local one, as he tunes for my Piano Teacher. And indeed my purchase was at least partially based on a discussion I had with him, as he also sells Pianos.

My Teacher has a Yamaha Grand, and an upright, and whilst her upright is a better model than my B3, I think the sound and feel is pretty close to what I'm used to when I have lessons. And the B3 is a considerable improvement on my old Casio PX S3000 (which served me really well), and has been sold to a friend.

Simonb Just before my piano teacher retired she bought a smaller house and traded in her Yam grand for a B3.

My long standing tuner also retired this year but we have been fortunate for new tuner arriving in the area. I do keep wondering if I should acquire a digital such as a Kawai CA901 so that I have something that never goes out of perfect tune. A CA901 would be good if I were to start a mini piano group in my home.

My first and only grand. She’s a 2009 Kawai RX-2 blak. I actually bought and had delivered two smaller pianos before this one. I just wasn’t happy with the experience. A Kawai technician convinced me a 6 foot piano was doable. (The RX-2 is 5’ 10”). It has three lid positions. This is on the very short stick.

It’s just my living room. But yes, the ceiling is 18ft at the highest point. That’s one reason the technician suggested a 6 ft. piano would be okay.

TLH21 Hi TLH21, We went to visit the August Forster factory when we went to Germany in April 2023. I actually played your piano model. It had a really beautiful tone! Actually it was a delight to play, it was so expressive. We also tried the very tall 56” inch model and a 6ft grand. They were very impressive and musical. The grand was gorgeous and reminded me of Sauter’s grands. The uprights likewise have a similar timbre.
The very tall Forster upright like the other uprights was on a dolly. While playing this huge piano I became acutely aware of how top heavy this piano really was. Needless to say I did not care to play it for more than 5 minutes. ...😳
Actually the manager gave us a wonderful tour and was very kind even though we arrived without prior arrangement. We were given souvenirs when we left of key rings made from piano hammers. Lobau is a nice small town about an hours train ride from Dresden. We were visiting Dresden at that point. I would love to hear what your piano sounds like.

a Disklavier or Transacoustic??

Anyone know why all the pictures in this thread are "Content not viewable in your region" for me?
This includes pictures I posted earlier in the year, which were viewable when I posted them.

I do not use Imgur (or whatever it's called) that won't display images for users in the UK.
